Choirs of St. John’s Elora
The Parish Choir of St. John's Elora is a fully-professional choir that provides musical leadership for Sunday morning services (11am), seasonal Evensong or Lessons and Carols services, and several performances and run-outs each season. Typical commitments are a Thursday evening rehearsal and one Sunday call (morning or afternoon). The choir runs from September-early June, with a summer break. Remuneration is competitive with similar positions and scales with experience; a travel supplement is provided for singers outside of Waterloo-Wellington.
The general call for core positions for the 2025-2026 season is currently closed.
If you are interested in an audition for the substitute singer roster, please reach out to Director of Music Patrick Murray at music.stjohnselora(at)gmail.com with a brief outline of your previous choral experience.
Good sight reading and previous professional or advanced pre-professional choral experience are expected. Singers of any or no faith background are equally welcome. Interest in early and/or new music is an asset.
Auditions consist of one solo piece of your choice (oratorio or art song preferred) as well as sight singing. Auditions may be scheduled in Elora, Kitchener-Waterloo, Toronto, and London.
If you are looking for a friendly and rewarding amateur singing experience, consider joining either our Volunteer or Compline choirs! For more information, reach out to Patrick Murray.
